Brintellix is a prescription only medication used to treat major depressive disorder in adults. In short term studies, it has been shown to improve the symptoms of depression within the first four weeks of use.

It is recommended that patients begin taking Brintellix at 10 mg once per day. After several days doctors may increase the medication to 20 mg per day. However, doses above 20 mg have not been tested in clinical trials for its effectiveness.
